Earlier this year Nevada Naturist and his girlfriend were at my home visiting and we were out in our hot tub in the back yard at night and I noticed this very bright almost planet looking object above and slightly northerly in orientation. There is nothing that I knew of that would be that bright in that location, at that time of night. I brought it to the attention of NN and his girlfriend and they both saw it too. We watched it for a bit then it gradually faded and disappeared from sight. It did not look like the light/lights from a plane or jet either and it did not move at all. I later thought that it might have been the light from a Super Nova. This article makes me wonder if what I saw may have been an early light pulse from this newly discovered Super Nova? I'll have to find information on the internet as to where its location is and see if it compares to what we saw :-)
