Dennis,

I recently took my first trip as well (January). Everything posted above is correct regarding access to the Springs via Bowen Ranch. If there is no one there they leave a tin can on the steps with small envelopes in it for you to put your $4 into. Write your liscense plate # on it and then there is a small slot in the wall that you can push it through. There is also on the steps under a rock a map of the trail down to the springs that you can take to help you out, although you shouldn't need it the trail is marked well. After depositing your $4 get back in your car and drive down the dirt trail about another 1/2 mile and you'll come to a spot where it opens up and people park. This is also where people camp if they choose to do so. Grab your stuff, lock your car and head out. After about a 1/2 mile downhill hike you'll come to a dirt road, hang a left on this road for about 100yds and look to your right. You'll see a wooden "gate" (looks kinda like a football goalpost), go through there and follow the trail which will take you right to the creek. When I was there last Friday it was running just slightly above my knees and slow, no problem crossing at all. Take plenty of drinking water, something to snack on, a hat and have a great time.
