Dennis,
1) The creek is at the lowest I have ever seen it for this time of the year. You can either wade through it and it is only thigh deep or you could could cross over the ridge and cross on the rocks just above the springs without getting wet.
2) Never heard of this disease and never experience a problem. What I did find last week end was some midget flies that bite like mosquitos and are real itchy later. They appear to hang just above the warm water. If I was on the other side of the creek they did not bother. However I may try some insect repelent next time. Maybe someone else has heard of the disease you mention.
3) When Mike is not present and no one else is they leave a can and some small envelopes to write your license plate # on and deposit the toll. So take $4 in change if possible.
Hope this helps, enjoy your first visit and come back and share on the forum later.
