lbcalrr, yes, it's always preferable to hike out as late in the day as you can. Even in summer, it always cools down comfortably enough around sundown. It's actually very pleasant to hike out just after sundown while its turning dark. Just bring a flashlight so you don't step on any rattlers or Mojave Greens!
