I do it all the time but it all depends on your conditioning. Pour cold water on your hat and drink a lot of water even if you are not thirsty.
Keep in mind that you won't be giving yourself much room for an error. This Wed forecast is 100F in a shade. It might get 120F+ in the sun.
If you fall and unable to walk, be prepared to spend entire day on the trail.
