Looks like we are tag teaming with our comments Gary :-) You wrote " Longing for some intelligence in the species of man...", yeah, that thought surely comes to mind when one sees the kinds of degrading things humans do at times. The stock market difficulties of late are more signs of the massive Train Wreck for humanity that is ongoing and growing in scale. Increasingly tuffer times and associated austerity measures, contracting world economies, etc, will be the new normal on into the foreseable future. The time of Hydrocarbon Man ( massive societal expansion built utilizing hydrocarbon fuels ) created a mirage of limitless growth and endless affluence. That facade of a never ending bright future is devolving now into the Great Crumbling.
