A big two thumbs up for all you do Sam at DCHS and surrounding area! Your great :-) I really enjoyed getting a chance to visit with you yesterday too. I was thinking about the issue of hauling trash out of the canyon and elliciting the help of others to do this, and perhaps it may work out better to have people haul out smaller bags of trash that they will commit to taking all the way to their vehicles so that bagged larger bags won't sit at various places along the trails which attracts differant types of animals that rip them up, scattering the trash at those locations. I know that even Ravens will rip open trash bags to find food. I've seen this many times where we live in Apple Valley since there are a whole lot of Ravens around here. Also with the situation of bigger bags sitting along the trail some people might be inclined to just stash the bags back in the bushes out of sight rather than deal with carrying the heavier bags on up the trail further which of course is not where we want the trash to end up. Maybe the bigger bags can be placed somewhere near the beach across from the hotpools where they are easily noticed and then people can pull out what they are willing or able to carry and place this in a small bag for the trip out. Alot of caring and thoughtful people really do the work of keeping things cleaner down there at DCHS, with the cooler months being an easier time in this regard because of the decreased visitation.
