I know this forum is about Deep Creek, not other places like San O, but don't know where else to post this info and it may be of interest.

Day trip to San O yesterday, Wednesday. The state park was mostly empty mid-week, with the exception of some campers but not too many. Trail 6 was really empty. The old nude beach, as always completely empty. Naturists set up just beyond the Pendleton fence, and it was a beautiful day there, again not too many people. Immediately beyond the fence where I laid out for the afternoon, there were just two couples, a dog, a surfer and me. Some people spread further on down the beach south, but I never do that. Some beautiful cliff sculptures have been carved (Greek temples?), and driftwood structures erected. Marines were pretty actively doing helicopter maneuvers over the water and beach for a few hours. Of note: After lunch I noticed two or three people set up nude on the old nude beach, on the state park side, north of the fence. They laid out on their blankets nude and went swimming nude. They were left alone. Until around 3 pm. A ranger came down in his pickup truck. I watched from my post just beyond the fence. He rode right up to the people on the old nude beach and slowed his truck and kind of turned it, covering them and their blanket in sand and dust. Then he just rode past them to the fence, where he stopped and stared at me for a ten to twenty seconds. I stared back. Then turned around and drove right next to the people's blanket again, covering them in sand and dust, again. He did not stop to ticket them. When he rode on, they got up, they were still nude, and covered in sand had to spend some time getting it off and lifting up their blanket etc. I was interested that the Ranger did not ticket these people. And I was interested in how VILE the ranger's behavior still was. We paid for that truck, and we pay his salary. Thank you for riding your truck next to the blankets of park users and trying to intimidate them. Thank you for covering them in dust and sand. Oh, and thanks for ripping up the old pristine nude beach with your tire tracks. I needed to write something, applaud their bravery.
