I first meet Ruth Coleman at the meeting we had for fire victims from the Willow Creek fire of 1999. Back then she had a lower post in some dept. with the Forest Service. Persons there were congratulating her for some promotion she had just gotten. When she started her rap about how they were going to help us some way she said she was open to any and all questions pertaining to forest service policy.
Remember the witch from the Wizard of Oz ,,, she has the same face. God help her I thought. I asked her several questions pertaining to her departments offer for help. And about what they could do to avoid the confusion the Fire dept. suffered during the fire. Then I saved my real question for the end. " What were they willing to do to preserve the ' NUDE ' customs at Deep Creek Hot Springs. "
She slowly turned her back to me. Paused and chatted with Brad Burns The BLM Ranger in charge of law enforcement. I allowed her to walk toward the exit door. Not wishing to appear to harass her in any way. Brad came over to me and said if I knew what was good for me I should leave that woman alone. I explained to him she was in charge of public relations, or so they said.
About 30 minuets later I was standing by the door Ruth had left through. When she entered she looked me in the eye then looked away as if she had seen a ghost. I asked her when she had her back turned again if she could answer my question ? She pretended to not hear and went to her boss and whispered in his ear something. So, it occurred to me the she had a problem with that issue.
I saw her several times afterward and she refused to even make eye contact.
Just thought that might help persons interested to know what happened.
And so we get to the dirt in her Department. Complete with sexual harrassment charges and all. Sounds like a novel completed with movie script ready.
I am glad the public relations director is gone.
