I think all of the citations so far, more than 2--15 or so--have been dismissed. I am increasingly of the opinion that we need to organize better on this issue. We need to plan days this summer when San Onofre supporters are asked to come to the beach and enjoy it nude again--as opposed to walking over to the Pendleton side. Let the Rangers come and ticket 50 people, 100 people. Or let them realize they need to leave the beach alone. When I have been down there, maybe a handful of people stay on the State Park side of the beach, and very rarely use it nude anymore. When they do, the Rangers sometimes rush down onto the beach in their truck, and offer a citation. But what if there were not one or two of us -- but 100? This happened at the end of the last summer before the ticketing began, and the Rangers stayed away. Now would be a good time to organize a day again, or how about every Saturday for the rest of the summer? While we have some press attention on the issue. I was happy to see this story spread out immediately yesterday, from the OC Register to the LA Weekly, the LA Times, etc.
