its unfortunate that hot creek hot springs closed about 5 years ago too because i loved that place as well as all the other springs in the area there
But it's very fortunate that all the other hot springs soaks in that area are all still available. Hot Creek was amazing when it was open. I remember standing in there and feeling the entire ground under the creek rumble and literally buckle. A lot of people got burned by the hot water ejecting from the bottom, so it had to be closed.
I agree, and yes that was a cool but creepy feeling, I do prefer deep creek though since you can actually go into the pools without being scalded. Is that why they closed it? People even got burned in the creek?
