Lower "T" is another name of the lower parking lot where the Bowen trail intersects the road and the trail continues on down to the Springs. The hill down to the lower T is a fun hill to go up and down. I have been able to make it in my 4x4 F250 Crew with no problem but I would be too chicken to try it in a regular vehicle without a low-range gear. I don't like the idea of getting stuck. I've seen Jeep Cherokees (2x2) try to make up that hill (driving West from the lower T to the Freedom trail) and just spin their tires. Although a car can make it to the Freedom trail I would prefer to drive in a high ground clearance vehicle. I've seen large quantities of oil where perhaps people have taken out their oil pan - that's why I love my 4x4 truck - its taken me to many hot springs.
