That is one rough-ass road you were on. I have been on that one several times in my 4x4. It practically knocked the nuts off my truck. It is best to follow Rudedog’s advice - drive all the way in to Bowen Ranch and then take the gate just to the right of the Bowen Ranch entrance. Then bear left at all the forks. It will take you first to the Freedom trail parking lot. The only hitch, the closer you park to the Springs, the more trash you have to haul out.
