I've noticed that former Barstow BLM Chief Ranger Barry Nelson's name still comes up from time to time on this forum, more than 5 years after his downgrade transfer to another State. That transfer occurred after the late Dean Greenwalt, owner of the Rock Creek Ranch, filed a complaint with the Interior Department's Inspector General, which led to a formal investigation against Nelson for alleged intimidation, threatening behavior, and misuse of fire rehabilitation funds.
Last Summer, Nelson was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault and interferring with a 911 call for help. The charges were dropped on the eve of trial. However, an individual with contacts in BLM has advised that Nelson's Law Enforcement credentials were removed, and that he no longer works for BLM's Ranger program.
