Newbie Intro

I hate to admit it, but I'm new to hiking, but loving every minute of it. Although I've lived in Southern California all my life, I just heard about Deep Creek a few months ago. It looks like a group of us are going next week and I have a few questions...

Where's a good place to download a trail map?

Is it safe to stay after dark?
- Is it easy to hike out in the dark?
- Are there undesirable people that may cause trouble at night?

Are most, if not all of the people that go there friendly?

Is okay if we bring girls and go skinny dipping without the fear of some pervert giving us trouble?

Do you have any other Deep Creek tips for a newbie?
