Danny,
I opened the door to the blue grey tent and saw several rocks in it and left it as I found it. Some one painted some sanskit writings on it. It was in the middle of the parking lot. Not a good place to camp. It is a eye sore.
Yes, I agree there seems to be more idiots per 100 in S.California than in other places. But I am always shocked when they knock me out of my comfort zone.
I have been considering moving my regular parking spot every time I park there. The beauty of that spot is it is on BLM land and not subject to Forest service rules. That fact has saved me money twice.
The Freedom trail head is my favorite place to camp, many remarkable natural places to see hiking there. I hope to see you there some time.
