Outlawheart, it appears you are mis-interpreting Dudenates accusations. You wrote this " Just because you think you know someone doesn't make a person incapable of an act such as this ". Dudenate says the snake guy is purported to be the one taking pictures, and not the guy with the hat ( clearly him meaning Carson ). I understand alot more than you know about what went on that day outlawheart, and there is no doubt in my mind that Carson is innocent regarding these accusations. Carson figures its a waste of his time to post on a forum like this. You act like defending someone against false accusations, whether on a forum or elsewhere is somehow wrong. I don't agree with this notion of yours.
You wrote this " This whole post has been spun around and not taken as the warning it was meant to be ". What is the gravity and importance of a supposed warning when half of it reeks as a vendetta against someone innocent of the accusations. This alone makes me question Dudenates character, his true intentions, and the veracity of anything he might post here in the future ( and I wouldn't be supprised if unwarranted aggression is part of his nature ). Regarding the photo taking accusations related specifically to the snake guy I wrote " I really doubt " when citing my opinion of this detail. Thats my opinion based on 26 years of experience visiting DCHS.
Now on the other hand, us regulars to this forum fully know that all manner of ill behavior goes on at DCHS. We of course would not approve of the things you suggested have happened to you. We of course agree that responsible people should do whats reasonable to address such things. However false accusations do not equate to a reasonable response. Look, we all understand DCHS has visitors at times who do the kinds of uncouth things suggested, no one here would deny that.
There are however alot of differant issues that could develop regarding issues like this where the waters of right versus wrong behavior can become a thing defined in accordance with ones point of view only. For example, maybe someone thinks that cameras should not be brought to DCHS ( unenfoceable of course ), or, someone thinks that there should be no nudity at these hotsprings, because they think being nude is immorral. Maybe someone has a problem with another person looking at them, for any length of time. I could go on and on but you get the idea. What reasonable means does this or that person have to try and moderate actions down there to their own idea of how things should be. If they were to act strictly under the guidance of set law they could not tell someone not to look at them even though under normal social guidlines the supposed " offender " may be transgressing a social norm of expectation. The point is there will continue to be never ending argument about all of this and unfortunately at times things get so heated that acts of physical aggression occur, rightly or wrongly. Things occur down at DCHS that cannot be controlled by any of us. My suggestion is to do what you can reasonably, and try to be as sensible as possible in your approach. Another point, the USFS rangers clearly are not in the position to have the time to bother with all of this so unless someone does something clearly illegal don't expect them to get involved with most of these issues.
Good luck, stay safe :-)
