Ok I am LMAO about this your wrote Mellowguy, " I think what I am saying is the most obvious and common-sensical thing imaginable ". Man, your so awesome dude! You must think we all have really tiny imaginations :-) And this, " we have even had people in this thread arguing against the Golden Rule (!), or the notion of being "reasonable." C'mon now...that's absurd! ". Ah, ya mind pointing out specifically were that occurred in this thread. At the time I personally questioned this " Golden Rule " thing you were speaking of, I thought your were referring to this notion of yours regarding couples and pool usage, and not the idea of people treating others with the same repect they would seek for themselves so don't try to imply that my brief mis-interpretation of what you meant was me nay-saying that general concept. So besides that little mis-step of mine, who else argued " against " the Golden Rule?

You also write, " It is only a few of the responders here who are against extending any such courtesy at all... which is utterly bizarre to me, and is clearly a minority view for hotsprings users everywhere." I'll tell you what, go to DCHS and spend a year polling people in all of the hotpools and ask them if they would get out of a hotpool if a couple that was there indicated that they wished to have the hotpool for themselves for some " alone time " or for some simple " romantic wisperings and caresses ". You will notice that I did not say SEX! There is not even the slightest doubt in my mind that the vast majority of the people would say no, they would not move because DCHS is a public place and romantic interest should be taken elsewhere when there are people around ( if there was no one about that would be differant ).

On the other hand what I have suggested as reasonable extends a far greater courtesy to all who visit in that the hotpools are availabel to everyone, all the time. That is clearly a more sensible etiquette given the nature of the arrangement at DCHS. But I have seen that its fruitless to try and convince you of that, and like Paul said, this poor horse has been beaten to a pulp :-)
