Good question...I don't think the Naturist Society is the final authority. I do think they are a group of people, women as well as men, who have long dealt with the problem of sex-charged single guys in nudist settings. I think that many of us can respect the Society's views. formulated and carefully expressed after long dealing with the problem. Their Rule #1 reflects not just a single man's interest, but the interests of couples, single women as well as single men. So I think it is eminently fair, reasonable, and basic common-sense etiquette.

You are the first one in these posts to raise the question whether we should adhere to the Society's Rule #1; instead, in discussing the Rule/Bullet Point, we have been talking about what the Society means by "privacy," "monopolizing time," and "not recognizing" when one is not welcome.

Of course, if we agree what the Society means by these things, it doesn't mean someone has to agree that the Rule is fair and reasonable. I happen to think it is. Emminently so.

I also think the Rule/Bullet Point is rooted in the common awareness of the problem of sex-charged single men in nudist settings. The point of the Rule is not to tell couples what to say to such men to get them to leave them alone. Rather, the point is a hope that the message will be internalized by single men, so that no one has to ask them to constrain their horniness for the sake of others' enjoyment of the springs (or nude beach). That was what I intended (dismally failing) to do by the post: Initiate the same message so single guys might internalize it when coming to DCHS. I never expected every sex-charged guy to do so. I did, however, hope that this basic point of etiquette would have a slight positive effect. Instead, it appears that my post has become counter-productive to my original intent, in sending a public message from all the responders here that a single guy has the green light at DCHS to be as rude as he wants to be. (Imagine the difference if there had been a chorus of condemnation in the responses for single guys who voyeuristically prey on woman and couples at DCHS, and there are plenty who do so, probably at least one or two each day). I understand that you, Rick, and others, did not intend a message of giving a green light to the bad apples, but I do think that it is the message which has resulted from the multiple angry and defensive responses to my post.
