I met Mike Castro over at Moss Mill in 1992 prior to the take over of the Bowen Ranch. Everyone had just come back from a wedding and were quite festive. Mike Castro was reading the Bowen Escapades (Mrs. Bowen's story).

Mike Castro at that time was promoting public access through Moss Mill Road and was part of the Friends of Deep Creek.

Mike Castro and numerous other individuals were forming the Friends of Deep Creek and planning to take possession of the Bowen Ranch from Tow Truck Terry. The Friends of Deep Creek knew that Fred Moss only owned the land and so did Mike Castro. Just look at the minutes of their incorporators meeting (Link Mike murders Fictitious Person).

About the vandalism:

Most of the cars that have been vandalized were parked at the Moss Mill parking lot, some at the lower parking lot (and belonged to people who oppose Mike Castro) and currently at the parking area at the end of JF3. The vandalism was broken windows and slashed tires, malicious in nature.

Based on where these cars were parked and/or who they belonged to who would be motivated to cause malicious damage? I know that a couple of the victims were able to track the person back to the Bowen Ranch through tire and footprints.

It is very hard to prove who did the malicious damage and that is why I have not made a point about these issues.

Some vandalism was for the purpose of stealing radios or personal belongings. This could have been anyone motivated by bad intentions.
