And you know it's a full moon tonight. That means a bright night tomorrow night. More people try to go down then besides it being a long weekend and that's a good time to check. Besides it is the Rule of Law and that's what keeps us all safe. Enjoy the springs and happy hiking.
Let me add since some on this forum seem to have a different understanding of visiting the springs at night than I do, I have had some good conversations with the Rangers over the years and they do what they need to with the resources they have. I would believe they will be there this weekend and they may do what I once saw, arrive on a Friday morning and stay until everyone left or had a fine, then come back the next day to give the same people another which was considerably higher because they knew they had someone with an attitude. The hike is part of what keeps Deep Creek special. It is wilderness and fragile. The impact of us visitors is quite evident when you do a culture of the creek in the area. 10 years ago I could come on an early Wednesday and not see anyone there until noon. Now I find campers in the morning. Even in the cold of winter. There is a significant change and so expect that law enforcement will respond trying to keep it the way it was because it won't survive long if we don't protect this special place. Just someone with the long view in mind.
