I have heard of the Freedom Trial, shorter hike but much more difficult than from Bowen. I have also heard of people having some issues with vandalism and cars getting broken into. I have always camped at Bowen Ranch and have never heard of any problems of any kind. I feel more secure there, met some really great people and the cost isn't that much to be worrying all day about problems that may occur at the Freedom Trail.
