RIVERSIDE COUNTY MOUNTAINS-SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS-
SAN DIEGO COUNTY MOUNTAINS-APPLE AND LUCERNE VALLEYS-
COACHELLA VALLEY-SAN DIEGO COUNTY DESERTS-

...LATE SEASON STORM SYSTEM TO IMPACT EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN
CALIFORNIA LATE SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY...

A STORM SYSTEM WHICH ORIGINATED IN THE GULF OF ALASKA WILL MOVE
THROUGH EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA LATE SUNDAY NIGHT AND
MONDAY. THIS WILL BRING RAIN TO MOST OF THE REGION AND STRONG GUSTY
WINDS IN SOME AREAS. SNOW AND FOG WILL BE EXPECTED IN THE HIGHER
MOUNTAINS. UNSEASONABLY COOL WEATHER WILL OCCUR IN ALL AREAS.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM ONE-HALF TO ONE INCH WEST OF THE
MOUNTAINS WITH ONE TO TWO INCHES ON THE SOUTH AND WEST FACING
MOUNTAIN SLOPES. ABOUT ONE-QUARTER INCH WILL FALL OVER THE HIGH
DESERTS AND ONE-TENTH INCH OR LESS IN THE LOWER DESERTS. MOST OF THE
RAIN WILL FALL MONDAY BUT COULD START AS EARLY AS LATE SUNDAY
EVENING...AND ISOLATED SHOWERS COULD LINGER THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT. AN
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM WILL BE POSSIBLE ONCE THE COLDER AIR ALOFT
ARRIVES MONDAY EVENING. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL MOSTLY BE BETWEEN 5500
AND 6000 FEET...AND THREE TO SIX INCHES OF SNOW COULD FALL ABOVE
6000 FEET.

STRONG GUSTY WINDS WILL OCCUR AT TIMES IN THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS
FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT. WIND GUSTS COULD EXCEED
50 MPH IN A FEW LOCATIONS MAINLY ON MONDAY. DENSE FOG WILL OCCUR AT
TIMES IN THE MOUNTAINS.

THE STORM SYSTEM WILL EXIT THE REGION BY TUESDAY MORNING.
