I'm not too sure how far they were from DCHS, but I definatley agree most people who go down into Deep Creek Canyon are not properly prepared. Especially the young crowd (keep in mind i am 22) - it sucks when you see groups of younger knuckleheads being rowdy with 60 beers, a bottle of liquor, no food or water. Half the time with no ice cooler so they are chugging them as fast as possible while beings assholes at DCHS and other areas in the San Bernardino Mountains in general. Its people like that who caused me to stay away from DCHS for almost a year ever since my cousins car got vandalized and a truck was burning to the ground at the top of Freedom Trail. Not to mention the amount of perverts and weirdos that I have encountered there.I have also met many wise and awesome people from all over the world at DCHS. DCHS is overrated nowadays. I spent 5 years going there, day trips and camping overnight. I had more good times then bad but towards the end i noticed a change at DCHS. Its getting way too crowded and known. I believe the USFS should close all access to the springs and let it be. That would be impossible to keep everyone out 365 days a year, 24 hrs a day. Thats why I dont think they will ever close it, especially having the PCT there.
