I learned of Deep Creek while I was a kid in the 60's. My father always talked about hiking in to fish for the natives. It is a special place and yes, the farther you get from the springs, either up or down creek, the better you will do. The springs are polluted with ecol i. Two trout is the limit and only casting rods. No spinners. Enjoy. Coyote.
