Are there any other fly fishermen lurking out there? Deep Creek is a designated wild trout water, barbless fly only. I catch and release all trout I catch. The ocean pelagics like tuna, wahoo, and yellowtail are another story altogether. I'm looking to connect with other fly fishermen on whats happening.
Just did a recon mission to deep creek this weekend outside of lake arrow head. Saw some 10+ inch trout in some of the large pools above the bridge, but lots of people drinking beer and hanging out. I think the best areas are going to be a little farther down stream where the average person is not going to bother hiking in. I checked out the waters arround running springs a few weeks back, but the water was lower with less pools.
