Where the water crosses the road in front of Rock Springs ranch is paved. I can talk about it now because Dean is dead.
Back in the late 90's it was a big concern for Dean. Because every time it rained a large ditch opened up there.
Deer canyon is up hill from there. It is a beautiful canyon where water flows from a spring all year long. When it rains it puts water into the road. Which is actually on Deans land. Before it was paved Dean found me with a shovel filling in the ditch so I could cross the ditch in my truck there and get to town. He said he wanted to pave the road there but there was too much paper work to get a permit to do so. I told him if he talked to the proper authorities he could get a waiver since it WAS actually on his land. He did this and then came out with the pavement. Before this he was afraid of being sued or fined. The pavement there has stopped the ditch from returning. That place is always the last place to dry up after the rains..
Wizard, did you notice the large ditch at dead mans curve? Some one may have fixed the ditches there. That was the scary place I warned about, earlier. When I was there last there were road signs and markers to slow people down or warn about the hazards.
About that hammock, when I was there last a pretty couple had a hammock there. She lived in Lake Arrowhead all of her life and it was his first time there. He said he was going to bring that hammock back with him every time he would go there and he was going to come back and camp as soon as possible. They were in their early 20's and she had beautiful blue eyes. It may have been them ?
The weather is all ways good when you are in hot water at D.C.H.S.
