Today, after I posted an answer for gypsy rob here I went to D.C.H.S. The creek was about 2 feet below the big pool dam. Or about 6 feet above the Arizona pool. The recent rains had crested to @ 3 feet from the pack it out sign on the beach. The water was too swift to be crossed safely.
When I took the temp of the creek it was 38.8 degrees. The outside air temp was 54.8 degrees, this was all @ 10:00am.
When going past the Oak springs rd. I needed 4 wheel drive. In several places where the water pooled in the road Ice was on the surface. Water was crossing Bowen ranch road in several places. At dead mans curve a large ditch was over the road.
Unless you are training for the olympics do not try to cross the creek. Try the Bradford ridge trail if you must go.
Glad to help !
