I did a hike to DCHS today getting there around 11AM. A couple of familiar faces were there when I arrived, Richard, a winter time Snow Valley ski instructor who lives at Lake Arrowhead currently and Donny who's been hanging with Jobe and Gary Roe in Summit Valley. Only a few other folks during the day. Beautiful weather with warm temps in the sun. The hotpools are mostly in the shade now all day and the pools are very clean. I had some brown paint stored down there and spent some time painting the big metal no camping sign and also the post of the other " pack it out " Woodsy Owl sign. Lots of beautiful late fall colors and I took a group of photos while there and will put some up at my Flickr site ( Wizard's pictures, below ) when I get a chance. I'll post to this thread when they are ready. The general area was looking pretty clean. Looks like the cattle are back in the Juniper Flats/Bowen Ranch areas being grazed. Saw their hoof prints pretty close to the canyon so I'd guess they will be intruding down to Deep Creek again pretty soon as there is no barrier to them getting there. You can report their presence down in the Deep Creek canyon to the Sky Forest Ranger station.
