After 4 year hiatus I made a triumphant return to the DCHS.
The road to the Bowen Ranch was in a much better shape than I ever recalled.
I saw ranger Burns and some young ranger hiking up the trail. I was told they issued tickets for camping to some folks whom I met on my way down.
I made to the springs at around 1PM and met a bunch of regulars I’ve seen last 4 years ago with the exception of one lady whom I met at Remington HS a couple of times.
There were no more than 15 people at any given time.
The pools are littered with candle wax. I scrubbed some but it barely made a dent. People use fancy red and blue candles whose wax is a major
eyesore to the place not to mention the safety hazard.
I ventured up and down the springs to pick up trash with my trusty trash picker.
I collected 2 half full bags and a broken camping chair.
I thought to take out at least one bag but overestimated my energy level.
I was so exhausted at the end of the day that I left everything under the community tree.
It’s a dick move on my part. I am sorry about that.
Overall, good time was had by all.
That’s all.
Best,
Sam D.
