.LONG TERM (MON-THU)...THE LATEST GFS MODEL SHOWS A RATHER
IMPRESSIVE STORM AFFECTING A LARGE SWATH OF THE WEST COAST BY
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY...AND DEPENDING ON INTER-OFFICE
COORDINATION...WOULD EXPECT TO INCREASE THE POPS FOR THIS PERIOD BY
THIS AFTERNOON. MAIN FOCUS OF THE FORECAST OCCURS DURING THE
EXTENDED PERIOD WHEN A LARGE TROUGH INTERACTS WITH A MOIST PLUME TO
BRING THE FIRST SIGNIFICANT CHANCE OF RAIN FOR THE SEASON.
DEFINITELY SOME REAL POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT RAIN ON THE ORDER OF
1 TO 2 INCHES...HOWEVER THE STORM IS STILL 4 TO 6 DAYS AWAY AND
THERE IS A BIT OF UNCERTAINTY YET. WILL HAVE TO WATCH FOR EFFECTS ON
THE BURN AREAS. SKIES WILL CLEAR OUT BY THURSDAY.
