At this website: http://www.off-road.com/trucks4x4/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=277424
it says this about the T-6 crossing:
" The drive from California 18, to California 173, through Lake Arrowhead to Cedar Glen and Hook Creek Road is no big deal. Eventually the pavement ends on Hook Creek Road, becoming 2N26Y.
About nine-tenths of a mile further on, the dirt road forks. If you bear left, you continue on via 3N34C to Splinter's Cabin on Deep Creek. Bear right and you reach Deep Creek T-6 Crossing, where you'll have to ford the creek to continue on 3N34......."
I compared this to the road information on my San Bernardino map, and these direction put the T-6 crossing at the point where 3N34 crosses Deep Creek and continues on east towards the Crab Flat general area.
And this at another website: http://www.fbodaily.com/archive/2002/08-August/16-Aug-2002/FBO-00140321.htm
regarding the construction of the new concrete bridge at the T-6 crossing. Here is the relevant content that shows that the T-6 crossing is the bridge across Deep Creek, not across Hook Creek:
" The project consists of the installation of open bottom pipe arches, including footings and wing walls at the existing concrete low water crossings at the T-6 crossing site. Work also includes the removal of the existing concrete cable crossing. Estimated cost range is $100,000 to $250,000. T-6 crossing is accessible from the intersection of State Highway 18 and State Highway 173, travel northerly on State Highway 173 approximately 2 1/2 miles to Hook Creek Road. Travel Hook Creek Road to Forest Road 2N26Y. Travel 2N26Y to Forest Road 3N34. Travel easterly on 3N34 approximately 1 mile to Deep Creek and the project site. "
These are the same directions as in the previous listed website. So Jobe when I wrote in my previous post that, " Jobe I think the USFS rule says that nudity is prohibited within a quarter mile of either side of the T-6 crossing as it relates to Deep Creek. " the evidence that I have discussed since supports this as being accurate, as opposed to what you wrote, " T-6 crossing and nudity is prohibited 1 mile from there ". Nudity is not allowed within one quarter mile of the T-6 crossing, not one mile. Also you wrote this, " So you see nudity IS allowed all over Deep Creek ", which has according to the above info shown itself to be untrue, in that the USFS rules states that nudity is prohibited within one quarter mile of the T-6 crossing, which if this no nudity zone ends up being a complete circle around this bridge, would clearly include dis-allowing by law nudity along a half mile section of Deep Creek, since the above info shows that the T-6 crossing is the point where 3N34 crosses Deep Creek at the new concrete bridge. Nudity is not allowed " all over Deep Creek ".
So in consideration of anything I've written on this T-6 crossing subject Jobe, I don't see how I've mired public perceptions with muddy info.
