I too hike nude. I don't drive to the trail head of the Bradford ridge trail (BRT) nude. However, once I have left my car, I am nude. Of the approximately dozen times I have hiked BRT, I have met people only twice. I have met two other groups from BRT along Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) a couple times. I am ashamed to admit that this past Wednesday, I actually put my shorts on. (Yes, more ashamed to put clothing on, than to to walk nude past 10 college age males and females.) BRT saves at least 45 minutes to 60 minutes each way vs. Bowen Ranch. And it is a very pleasant hike.

Once at the hot springs, I am an aggressive nudist. My attitude is that this is one of the few clothing optional places in the US and damn it, I'm going to keep it that way. Most of the time, people either ignore me, or talk to me regardless of my attire.

So my view is to keep the clothes off when hiking and definitely around the springs. If one does not like it, there are 1,000.000 times more non-clothing optional locations to which he/she can hike.

Stay strong - stay natural!
