We can all continue to self-police negative behavior and illegal actions at the springs, including the graffiti culprits. But the problem is that only goes so far, plus there is no point in jeopardizing one's own safety by taking on a gang of hooligans. It is very unfortunate that the the Forest Service is so strapped for money and suffers from an extreme shortfall of rangers and enforcement capabilities. The only potentially workable solution I see is for enough people to keep bugging the FS about the problems, especially the graffiti and illegal camping. It's not the perfect answer, but its better than doing nothing and having Deep Creek get closed permanently.
