Hey whats up, is it D. Colt or M. Colt. Are we talkin a split personality here. Or maybe its Dr. Colt and Mrs. Colt. Anyway I just wanted you to know I tried some of that Lamb Sarcasma you mentioned and it was great! No really, I just wanted to clarify the arrowhead approch route to the springs. There is a trail called the Bradford Ridge trail that goes from a white bridge which crosses Kinely creek. The road that crosses this bridge is a dirt one called 173 which begins at one end at the Mohave Dam Area. Katrina has spelled out directions in detail in a previous post so ask her where to find it if your interested in hiking from this direction. How long does it take the average person hiking from the Bowen Ranch parking lot to the springs, about 50 minutes? I haven't hiked in from that 2 wheel parking area in years and have parked since on public access routes. It takes me one hour and 15 minutes to hike from the Kinely creek bridge to the springs on the Bradford trail. It is definitely more strenous and when you reach the edge of the Deep Creek Canyon where the trail drops down it has some rather slippery steep areas. Its a good route if your going when the Deep Creek stream level is high because of heavy rains. You end up on the side of the creek with the pools, no cold winter wading or swimming! The beginning few hundred yards of this trail are also not very obvious or well marked and could definitely be a problem for first timers from this direction. Well thats it. Any suggestions of a wine to go with my plate of Lamb Sarcasma Mr. D. Or is it M.
