Murray, Have you ever hiked to DCHS on the Bradford Ridge trail? If you drive further east up into the mountains on HWY 173, until the dirt section ends and the pavement begins again, then you go about another half mile to the Kinely Creek bridge ( its been rebuilt after the Pinnacle Fire and is concrete ) where you park, then the Bradford Ridge trail goes basically north from there, following Kinely creek on the east side of the canyon for the first portion of the trail. Its about two and a half miles to DCHS using this route. More detailed directions can be found at the Deep Creek Volunteers link below.
