Re: Trip report 1/9/09

I hiked down on Wednesday January 7. Conditions were pretty good, and as noted, the creek is numbing cold. I Had a good soak, with a few people around. As I was getting ready to leave, 4 guys in full motorcycle off-road gear, including knee-high boots, hiked to the springs from the Warm Springs trail. With what they were wearing, it was obvious they hadn't hiked very far. Most likely, they rode down the ridge East of the Bowen Ranch and parked their bikes on the North side of the creek near the Warm Spring. These guys were obnoxious. I left, then phoned the Forest Service as soon as I could obtain cphone service. The Dispatcher who took my report said that these riders had already been reported. However, I didn't hear any helicopters and doubt there was any law enforcement response.
