For a while in the 80s cattle were all over the trails and down at the springs and their pies were everywhere. Of course, I complained to the USFS and soon the cattle were gone (for 25 years, it seems), but in those days the country was not as broke as it is today, although with Reagan in charge then, his administration wasn't too concerned with keeping cattle off of public forest land. His support of the "Brush Fire Revolution" favored letting country business people be free of restrictions and regulations. I didn't care much for the 'Gipper" but I'd take him over the bozo who sits in the seat today (but not for long!).
Regarding the textile takeover of traditionally clothing free environments, I feel that the solution is to bring in more naked people of both sexes than there are textiles and recruit younger folks to be the new Deep Creek Hot Springs caretakers. We pioneers of the 60s and 70s are now the elders of skinny dippers and to survive we need multi-generational bare skin at Deep Creek and all clothing optional environments.
Happy New Year my friends.
