At our home in Apple Valley as of 9PM we have about 8 inches of snow on the ground. My wife went to work today down in Long Beach early in the morning before the snow started falling. She started to drive home from Long Beach around 10:30 this morning. By then all the passes were closed. She finally decide to take a long alternate route home, starting around 3PM, heading east on the 10 FWY to HWY 177 ( which is east of the Joshua Tree National Park ), then north to the 62, then west to 29 Palms then north on Amboy Rd to old route 66, then west to Ludlow, then west on HWY 40 to Barstow where she found out that the 15 FWY was closed between Victorville and Barstow. So she is currently taking National Trails HWY along the Mojave River back towards Victorville then home to Apple Valley. She said it was snowing moderately as she was driving National Trails HWY. She will be home soon :-) We haven't seen this much snow since the big snowfall in December of 2004. I put 5 photos I took of the snow around our home today at my Flickr photo site. The address is:

Looks like its going to be a " Snow Day " for all of us tomorrow :-) DCHS must look Awesome right now!
