I know what you mean. Most of the night-time photos I took at Burning Man did not come out, being blurry and I'm thinking it may have something to do with the auto-focus on my digital camera. I haven't read the camera manual yet ( something I should do ) so maybe there is something else I didn't do right. In limited light and night shots my simple digital camera has trouble getting good images.
