I don't see where Wizard spoke proudly about creating his own trail. DCHS, Inc. does not advocate creating new trails.
However, DCHS, Inc. can see why this may have occurred. When an established road and trail have been closed (especially in an illegal manner), the public will find another way around. Like when the rocks were pulled down onto Moss Mill Road, the public created a bypass around the blockade.
If the BLM had wanted this road closed after they acquired this easement, there are legal processes to do that. They would have to go through what is called a NEPA process. NEPA stands for the National Environmental Protection Act.
However there is also the act of Congress referred to as RS2477 which provides that the county can assert a right to cross public lands on any road which existed in 1976 and prior.
