Yes Paul, there is alot of oil still left in the ground, but that in no way means that everything is ok, and that our nation, and the rest of the world will not be experiencing increasingly dire repercussions from increasingly expensive energy that will be devastating economies, as they are now around the world. The cost for getting at the poorer quality and harder to get oil will be astronomical, and is already showing itself to be un-affordable in many locations where oil does exist. So why Paul is it all over the news lately that the US is heading for an ENERGY CRISIS. Do you think just because your making some money in geothermal investments that this means we are not facing huge problems regarding energy. I have never seen any numbers that suggest that Geothermal energy will ever provide more than just a small percentage of what the US needs to run its economy. T. Boone pickens has a plan that implies that wind and natural gas will save us from our looming energy crisis. Its a farce. Pickens is an oil invester that sees the days of that lucrative industry are numbered, so he's wants to invest in wind. His plan is about getting the public and the US government to think that wind is a BIG solution so they will pay the cost and pass the laws to allow for huge energy corridors from the wind project areas, which will provide for Pickens wind investments to be in a position to profit. Pickens wants to use natural gas to run the US vehicles. He is living in a dreamworld. Natural gas production and supply in the US is already under pressure and will be heading into production declines, quickly following the depletion curve of oil. There have been record amounts of new gas wells drilled and yet US gas production is stagnant and beginning to fall. Pickens was asked by Larry King last night, " If we have so much natural gas then whey aren't we using it now? ". Pickens response when asked this question twice was, " I don't know ". Pickens is 80 years old and he would most likely be dead by the time his Wind and Gas Fix would even start to come on line ( thats a big IF ). When the truth of his Farce Fix is clear for all to see then, it won't matter to T. Boone will it. Pickens just wants to pave the " Energy Corridor Road " to allow his new wind investments to flourish and to do that he must convince the US Gov and its public to fund the energy corridors. Listen to McBush the last few days. Drill, Drill, Drill, Drill, Drill, Now, Now, Now, Now. Obama said yesterday that if he's elected that in ten years we ( the US ) won't use any oil from the middle east or Venezuala. The nonsense from all of these people is jaw dropping. The world oil production has been stagnant for three years now after rising for decades. Opec has been discussing this last week the possibility of rationing its oil. Russian oil production, second in the world, is now declining this year. Mexico won't be able to export oil anymore in just a few years. Venezuala is making a range of moves to steer their oil to other countries, away from the US. Indonesia will be out of the oil export business soon. The ability of the US to export oil is being pinched on so many fronts and this situation is worsening daily. Its all over the news, expecially in the last couple of days about getting the congress to come back from their recess to work on solving the NATION'S ENERGY CRISIS! The presidential candidates are blathering back an forth on the subject of just how they will fix our ENERGY CRISIS! But I guess we shouldn't worry about all of this, because " there still plenty ( oil ) left ", and because Geothermal investments can make you some money! YeHaw, were all gonna be OK!
