Laughing Bear,
I install structural steel in buildings. Hospital steel is 3 times thicker than in other buildings, also seismic braces are installed in tandem every where. Your hospital is most likely the safest place to be during an earth quake.
After the Northridge Quake I retro fitted a police academy, a 22 story condo tower in Santa Monica, a court house and the Northridge mall. But no hospitals, because they are already above the standards for earthquakes. The Northridge hospital never shut down after that earthquake, Because it was tough as steel.
So, RELAX, enjoy your position in the world. You are a lucky man.
So, how much rock and rollin' did you feel and how high up were you?
