Rick,
My point is this... anyone on federal lands may be guilty of any thing. Wheather or not you intended to be guilty of an infraction. That is what they call them. With no way of knowing what is or is not an infraction. Did you take a shovel with you last time you were in the forest. If not, then you too were guilty of an infraction while there. So go ahead and send in you tax money.
They used these same rules to kill off our native American brothers and sisters. Sad but true.
Where I was camping has campers there almost every day during good weather here. So these tax collectors could get a whole lot of tax money if they tried. I felt like I had been robbed, and I was. So I plan on camping there another 100 times , just to get my monies worth. This was random persecution. I did not consider a 6,000 year old trail an inprovement. Besides I was about 100 yards from this trail. So it could also be argued about what near means in the law. So this infraction was matter of perception. As David would say.
I did not feel like a criminal ;-o
The broshure that the Lake Mead recreation area puts out from their offices to the public invites us to camp anywhere in the park. Except where there are no camping signs or where there are inprovements. So the native Americans were inproving this area and did not know it either.
Thanks for caring .
