AC,
Be careful how you use that camera.
Once, while with my last wife and our daughters I spotted a weirdo following our girls with his camera. When I confronted him about it he compounded my fury by lieing about his wierdness. My KILLER instinct went off the charts. Freaking out our girls more
than that weirdo.
As for your legal camping with the gps. A good place is here:
Turn right about 100 yards before the Bowen ranch is a dirt road on the right. Go 1.75 miles and there is another dirt road turn left. It goes @ 200 yards and ends into another road turn left and go 1/2 a mile to what is called the freedom parking lot for the freedom trail. You will be 1.2 miles from the hot springs.
I park on the far left side and have a special place up hill on the left that I have camped at @ 100 times. You can also use a cell phone there which I hook into my laptop and go online. From this hill you can also see the parking lot for the Bowen ranch. With a good pair of bonocs.
I wish I had gps co ordances to help you with. The elevation is the same as the Bowen ranch but the trip to the springs is halve, so be prepared.
Please post a trip report and tell us here about your adventures.
I am glad to help !
