Is it a mile from the Creek or from the Hot springs?
There are a few nice flat spots near the fire road I use to get to the Ranger Parking area on the Bowen Ranch side. Its about 2 miles away from the creek and springs. If you have 4x4 you can make it to the DCHS Trail head if not there is another trail that meets up with it but that trail is pretty hard.
