My hope is that you told Ranger Burns about Lance and his crew, and not campers in general.

While it is illegal to camp at the Springs, most people are responsible campers. It's a small minority of visitors doing the damage. What Fred Burns can do about that is questionable, unless his plan is to confront Lance face-to-face with a warrant.

Speaking of warrants, there has also been plenty of illegal dirtbike activity down Deep Creek Canyon either side of the Goat Trail, but until I get 'names and numbers' (positive identification), I have no plans of telling the authorities because punishing all dirtbikers for the illegal activities of a few would be wrong.

And that's the point of this rant. The last thing we need are knee-jerk reactions that could backfire on all of us.
