In making this comment in my post above: " The public has a number of ways to access DCHS for daytime use, and none of these involve crossing the 80 acres that is the private property of the Bowen Ranch. ", I want to clarify to the general public viewing this forum that the Bowen Ranch is also one of ways visitors use to access the springs. Those familiar with the area know that most visitors use the Bowen Ranch property for parking and for ease of access when visiting DCHS since it provides the best road conditions to a realatively close parking spot to the springs. The Bowen Ranch is an 80 acre privately owned parcel of land within BLM lands. DCHS is at least a mile into USFS publicly owned lands. Maybe Mike Castro has a secret hidden hotsprings under the old Bowen Ranch building, hence the Bowen Ranch Hot Springs :-)
