Well I guess this means it a no go. I guess I'll save my anchors for more caving or Joshua Tree. But I don't see how setting up a Security line for people to cross the creek would make the Forest Service close DCHS. Someone has already put up a piece of "L" shaped sheet metal and nailed it into the rock with concrete nails and then tied the rope to a dead tree on the other side. And if its defacing then why haven't they closed down the springs due to the spray paint and soot from the fires people have started next to the rocks? I know that even climbers, such as myself, don't like to place anchors unless we have to for safety reasons and for how much they cost to buy... I don't see much of a safety issue without putting a line across and the only reason I would is because someone has already done this and it pains me to look at the big "L" shaped piece of metal nailed to the rock with a piece of rope tied to it. This is a safety issue in it self because as people use the rope it begins to rub on the sharp metal and will cut through it, thus is someone was using it when it cut through they would fall. But anyways... If one person has a problem with it then so be it. I'm not the type to do anything unless everyone says it's cool.
