AC, Right now the Weather Channel is calling for rain on Sunday so flooding may be an issue regarding your crossing Deep Creek. Another option if the stream is high is too hike in by way of the Bradford Ridge trail. Directions for this trail can be found at the Deep Creek Volunteers link below at this forum, under " Alternative Route " I believe. Also I've taken at times my River Rat ten dollar walmart raft to use to cross the stream when the river is high. Its much like a big inner tube, quite durable, with grommets for ropes of you need it. You can just sit back in the " Doughnut hole ", put your day pack on your belly and then just paddle across with ease. When crossing this way you need to start out slightly up stream from where you want to end up because of the current. Some years I've hooked up a set of ropes from the raft to either side and people would use the raft like a little ferry boat, the ropes being tied to a small tree at each edge of the stream. Good luck on your Sunday adventure to DCHS :-)
